Beekeeper, an innovative mobile platform that enhances communication and engagement between employers and employees, has raised venture capital of $5 million through a seed financing round led by FYRFLY Venture Partners. Other participants in the financing round included Polytech Ecosystem Ventures, b-to-v Partners and angel investors including Niklas Ostberg and Ariel Luedi. The money will be used to promote growth of the firm’s employee communications product in various industries such as manufacturing, retail and hospitality. Philipp Stauffer, co-founder and general partner of FYRFLY Venture Partners has also joined Beekeeper’s board of directors.

Beekeeper uses a mobile platform to strengthen communication between employees and employers. The product is specially designed for blue-collar and service employees who do not sit at desks, work in shifts and are usually not involved in corporate management. The platform enhances significant dialogue and collaboration via multiple features, such as survey tools and feedback. It provides balanced analytics, security and scalability. Currently, the company has 50 enterprise customers with users in over 100 countries.

Cristian Grossmann, CEO of Beekeeper, said that his company connects employers and unconnected employees in meaningful, engaging and personal ways. The company is targeting to facilitate this connection for the 70% of global non-desktop employees.
