“A moment without you is a lost moment”

Last year, Celinne Da Costa visited me at my home to chat. Even when she was only 20 years old, she had already excelled in  a lot of things. Now, at the age of 25, she is more adept at pairing off her two passions; travelling and writing, all the while balancing off her corporate advertising life at 360i. Celinne’s continuous search for her quintessence and her discovery of self-importance are beautifully presented in her travel blog.

Travel can definitely strengthen the bond of any relationship, my family is a concrete example. Whenever I have to go on a trip and my father happens to be staying at my house, he always comes along; the same goes with my mother. Susanne, my Swedish sister, is also a travel connoisseur. We have  embarked on our first exclusive trip to Kenya and Seychelles last February 2016. Travel expands our horizons and life views, and Celinne has skillfully captured this with her prose and photographs.

Celinne documents her travels in her blog, which focuses on self-discovery and the human truths. She writes candidly, free from any prejudice, and has the ability to draw her readers in for more. Through her writing, Celinne easily and clearly expresses her opinions about life while weaving through the places she visits. Her blog speaks volumes of the difference between being a traveler and being a tourist.

For Celinne, traveling is more than just seeing the city and its attractions, it’s about getting to feel the soul of each city, and understanding what it brings out in her and everyone else. For example, she has written about Geneva and perfection, what New York taught her about change and how Austin inspires solitude.

In addition to her writing, her Instagram features beautiful travel photos and inspirations. Celinne’s work and photography have been featured in several publications, including Paulo Coelho’s blog, Deshabille Magazine, The Brazilian Times and on Leon Logothetis’ twitter account, author of The Kindness Diaries.

An Italian-Brazilian and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Celinne currently resides in New York City. She has lived in three continents and six cities. Her multicultural background and mindful outlook on life have given her a highly unique perspective on life, travel, local cultures and how to push beyond the tourist facade that is so often presented to visitors.

There are numerous travel blogs out there, so many that they all seem to blur into one. It’s always about restaurant recommendations and tourist sites. The real traveler seeks inspiration in order to understand the soul of the city and all the moving pieces that make it unique. Celinne writes about travel, but she is not a travel writer per se, she has a very unique style of writing that centers around mindfulness, spirituality and philosophy.

I highly recommend her work for those who seek a cultural perspective and a fresh outlook on life and travel. Celinne’s blog is beautifully crafted with images, and a type of prose that will carry you with it. I hope you enjoy living vicariously through her writing, and also remember to open your eyes as each moment is an adventure that is pending your awareness of moments.
