The #crowdfunding campaign for a travel jacket with 15 features in #kickstarter raised more than $9 million from 45,000 individuals in the crowd. The author raised 10 questions about this jacket – and the last question posed: Why is this on Kickstarter? Will you be willing to pay $169 for a windbreaker type of jacket? or $129 for a sweatshirt type?

TechCrunch describes what the company hypes as The World’s Best TRAVEL JACKET with 15 Features: “The jacket aims to simplify the #traveling process through hosting pockets and compartments that keep all your items within easy access while also giving you accessories like a neck pillow and eye mask built-in to the clothing’s lining.”
I get it. Pockets good when traveling.
Lots of pockets, lots good. Like a lot of things in life, however, the BauBax jacket prompts more questions than it answers. Like, what’s with the dedicated pockets?
Will I get in trouble if I put my earphones in the pocket for pens and styli? Will it throw off the delicate balance with my phone charger pocket?
Once I’ve filled my pockets with my passport and my drink and my microfiber cloth and so on (and why do I need a microfiber cloth anyway?), how will I remember where I put them?
If someone punches me in the stomach, or I trip and fall, will the iPad in the stomach-centered iPad pocket shatter and disembowel me?
Is carrying so much crap inside your jacket uncomfortable?
Looks heavy. Am I going to wind up with a torn rotator cuff?
And: rather than shell out $169 (for the windbreaker) or more, why not just pick up Amanpour’s Beretta shooting jacket?
